Toronto, Montréal and Halifax by Rail

Travel through rural Ontario and charming Québec, and then cross into the distinct Maritime provinces of New Brunswick and
Nova Scotia. Enjoy sightseeing tours of the modern city of Toronto, cosmopolitan Montréal, historic Québec City and coastal Halifax.The train rides from Toronto to Montréal and then
to Halifax will allow you to admire the beauty of this country while being completely relaxed in the comfort of your rail car.

Itinerary


Day 1:Arrival in Toronto

Arrive at Toronto and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Stay 2 nights in Toronto.

Day 2:Toronto

Sightseeing tour of Toronto including the provincial Parliament Buildings, City Hall, the financial district, Chinatown, the colourful residential neighbourhoods and the waterfront. Remainder of the day is free.

Day 3:Toronto to Montréal - VIA Rail

Board VIA Rail’s The Corridor train to Montréal. Pass quaint little towns along Lake Ontario, the historic city of Kingston, the Thousand Islands region and ride close to the American border before crossing into the province of Québec. Rest of the day at leisure. Stay 2 nights in Montréal.

Day 4: Montréal

Full day excursion by bus to explore Québec City. Your expert guide provides narration as you tour through the only walled city in North America. Highlights include the Upper and Lower Towns, the Parliament Buildings, the Plains of Abraham and the Citadel.You will also visit the spectacle of Montmorency Falls, just outside of Québec City.

Day 5: Montréal to Halifax - VIA Rail / The Ocean

Tour of Montréal, highlights include the Notre Dame Basilica, the financial and residential districts, historic Old Montréal, the charming Latin Quarter and much more. Afterwards, transfer independently to the train station to board VIA Rail’s The Ocean with the final destination of Halifax. Overnight on board VIA Rail’s The Ocean. Dinner included.

Day 6: Halifax

This morning you will wake up to the beautiful scenery of the Baie des Chaleurs. At this point,The Ocean turns-southwards and travels across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, reaching Halifax midafternoon. After your train journey, you can relax at your hotel or start exploring the coastal city of Halifax and enjoy its nightlife. Halifax is located on one of the world’s largest natural harbours and bears all the hallmarks of both a modern and historic city.You can discover its proud maritime heritage in the many museums and along the waterfront area which includes the restored Historic Properties. Stay 2 nights in Halifax. Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 7: Halifax

Ride through the streets of Halifax, see the Historic Properties, the Titanic Burial Site, Province House, Old Town Clock, St. Paul’s Church, City Hall, Government House, the busy port and the universities.The tour includes a stop at the Victorian Halifax Public Gardens and the Halifax Citadel National Historic Park.

Day 8: End of tour

Tour ends when you check out of your hotel.
