Day 1 Vancouver Arrival
Arrive in Vancouver and spend time exploring this scenic city on your own. Admission to the Vancouver Observation Deck at Harbour Centre with spectacular views of the city, mountains and ocean is included. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 2 Vancouver to Kamloops
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. On today’s journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake and into your overnight destination, Kamloops.

Day 3 Kamloops to Jasper
Your journey continues north and east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will be surrounded by dramatic scenery as you follow the banks of the North Thompson River through the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains, climbing ever nearer to the high peaks of the Continental Divide. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet), Pyramid Falls, as well as the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Your journey ends on arrival in the resort town of Jasper this evening. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 4 Free day in Jasper
Enjoy a day at your leisure Iin Jasper National Park. Optional activities include a round of golf at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, a walk through Maligne Canyon, a cruise on Maligne Lake or a gondola ride up Whistler Mountain. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 5 Columbia Icefield Excursion
Enjoy a full day sightseeing tour to the Columbia Icefield. Travel along the spectacular Icefields Parkway, one of the most scenic highways in the world, past cfountless glaciers and majestic mountain peaks to the Columbia Icefield. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier and learn more about it’s geological features. Time will be available for lunch (not included) before returning along the Icefields Parkway to Jasper. Overnight Jasper.

Day 6 Jasper to Quesnel
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain resort of Jasper in the Canadian Rockies to the charming rural town of Quesnel, gateway to the North Cariboo. Pass through the Rocky Mountain Trench with the steep Rocky and Cariboo Mountains either side, and onto the rolling hills and vast forests of British Columbia’s northern interior, home to abundant wildlife. Highlights include Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Yellowhead Pass, Moose Lake, and the opportunity to view the abundant wildlife found in this unspoiled wilderness region. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer follows the Fraser River into Quesnel, your overnight destination.

Day 7 Quesnel to Whistler
Your journey continues south today to the four-season resort of Whistler. Enjoy breathtaking and varied scenery, from the desert-like conditions of the Fraser Canyon, and the Cariboo Plateau with its rolling hills and vast ranchlands, to the river canyons and lush farmland of the Pemberton Valley. Highlights include sweeping views of the Fraser Canyon and Deep Creek Bridge, one the highest railway bridges in the world and the shorelines of Anderson Lake and glacial fed Seton Lake. Your rail journey ends on arrival in the resort town of Whistler Village, host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games alpine events.

Day 8 Whistler to Vancouver
Your journey continues south today to the four-season resort of Whistler.
