| Day 1:Arrival in Toronto
Pick up your rental car and make for your downtown hotel where you
will collect your travel documents as you check-in. Stay 2 nights
in Toronto.
Day 2:Toronto
Enjoy the entire day in and around Toronto. Some suggestions: the
CN Tower and spectacular SkyDome; Ontario Place; the Hockey Hall
of Fame; the Ontario Science Centre; or the Royal Ontario Museum.
Day 3:Toronto to Kingston
(260km) Drive east today, directly to Kingston, and tour Old Fort
Henry or take a Thousand Islands cruise. An alternative route to
Kingston passes through the quaint heritage towns of Prince Edward
County. Overnight in Kingston.
Day 4: Kingston to Montréal
(290km) En route to Montréal today, we suggest a visit to
Upper Canada Village at Morrisburg, a fascinating restoration project,
recreated in pre-1867 style. Stay 2 nights in Montréal.
Day 5: Montréal
Visit Notre-Dame Basilica, Old Montréal, the Biodome, the
Casino or the underground city. Montréal is renowned for
its active and cosmopolitan nightlife.
Day 6: Montréal to Québec City
(250km) En route to Québec City, we suggest a stop at Cap-de-la-Madeleine,
Canada’s national shrine to the Virgin Mary. Of interest in
Trois-Rivières is the Museum of Québec Folk Arts and
Traditions. Stay 2 nights in Québec City.
Day 7: Québec City
Québec City is Canada’s oldest city and exhibits a
strong French heritage. Some suggestions: the Fortifications, a
historic national park; Place Royale, the city’s entertainment
centre; or Île d’Orléans. Outside the city is
the dramatic shrine at Ste. Anne-de-Beaupré and the Montmorency
Falls.
Day 8: Québec City to Ottawa
(460km) Visit more local attractions, perhaps the Wolfe-Montcalm
Monument or Dufferin Terrace. Drive one of several routes to Ottawa,
the nation’s capital. Stay 2 nights in Ottawa.
Day 9: Ottawa
Spend all day seeing this historic city of pageantry and the arts.We
suggest a visit to the Parliament buildings, museums or National
Gallery, perhaps a tour of the Royal Canadian Mint or a boat ride
on the Ottawa River.
Day 10: Ottawa to Huntsville (350km)
Enjoy a scenic drive today to Algonquin Provincial Park and the
Muskoka region.This lakeland route offers some of the finest fishing
in the country. Stay 2 nights near Huntsville.
Day 11: Huntsville
This area offers tennis, golf, boat cruises, horseback riding and
hiking trails. A short drive away is Lion’s Lookout Park or
Muskoka Pioneer Village.
Day 12: Huntsville to Niagara Falls
(330km) Drive south and bypass Toronto en route to Niagara Falls,
the ‘honeymoon capital of the world’.We suggest a stop
in Midland at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons. In Niagara Falls, take
a ride up the Skylon Tower or a boat ride on the‘Maid-of-the-Mist’.
Overnight in Niagara Falls.
Day 13: Niagara Falls to Toronto - End of
tour
(130km) Depart Niagara Falls and drive through Ontario’s winelands.Visit
historic and charming Niagara-on-the-Lake and the Welland Canal.
Your tour ends today when you return your car to Toronto Airport. |
