Prince Edward Island.You will begin in Halifax
before traversing Nova Scotia’s picturesque
fishing villages and rugged coastal landscapes
at the Bay of Fundy.
Make your way to Cape Breton and enjoy
breathtaking views at Bras d’Or Lake and on
the Cabot Trail. Learn all about Nova Scotia’s
Scottish, Native and Acadian heritage on your
historic and cultural explorations of this
energetic Maritime Province.
Travel to charming Prince Edward Island and
admire the beauty of the low rolling
countryside of Canada’s smallest province
and cradle of Canadian confederation. |

Day 1:Arrive in Halifax
Transfer independently to your downtown hotel.
Remainder of day at leisure. Stay 2 nights in Halifax.
Day 2: Halifax
Located at one of the world’s largest natural
harbours. Discover its proud maritime heritage in
the many museums and along the waterfront area,
which includes the restored Historic Properties, or
go on a harbour cruise aboard the Bluenose II.
Day 3: Halifax to Western Shore
(140km) Drive along the Lighthouse Route to the
fishing community of Peggy’s Cove. Continue along
the coast and discover Nova Scotia’s hidden
treasures. Overnight in Western Shore.
Day 4:Western Shore to Digby
(165km) Drive along the coast and stop at
Lunenburg for a visit to the renowned Fisheries
Museum of the Atlantic. From Liverpool, take the
scenic, cross-country drive linking the rocky
southern shore with the lush Annapolis Valley.
Explore the wilderness of Kejimkujik National Park.
Travel along the Annapolis Basin visiting remnants of
Anglo-French colonial rivalry. Stay 2 nights in Digby.
Day 5: Digby
Days at leisure to explore this picture-postcard
fishing port. It is located beautifully on the Annapolis
Basin, overlooking Digby channel, where the waters
of the Basin flow into the Bay of Fundy.
Day 6: Digby to Truro
(300km) Admire the Bay of Fundy, world-famous for
its extreme tides.The vertical range between high and
low tide can be as much as 15m, the greatest rise of
water on earth. Also visit historic landmarks, such as
the Annapolis Royal Area, the Grand Pré National
Historic Site, and Fort Edward National Historic Site,
and learn more about Nova Scotia’s native heritage.
Overnight in Truro.
Day 7:Truro to Charlottetown
(130km) Make your way to Pictou.Take the ferry
across the Northumberland Strait to Prince Edward
Island, Canada’s smallest province noted for its
attractive and peaceful charm, as well as its fruitful,
low rolling countryside. Arrive in the charming city
of Charlottetown where you stay 2 nights.

Day 8: Charlottetown
Day at leisure to explore the Victorian homes and
elegant squares. Despite the 20th century character
the city displays today, it still manages to evoke the
feeling of a colonial seaport with quaint sections such
as Great George Street and Old Charlotte Town.
Day 9: Charlottetown to Antigonish
(160km) Return to Nova Scotia via the
Northumberland Strait, and drive along the North
Shore Drive through tranquil scenery and small
communities that still celebrate Nova Scotia’s Scottish,
native and Acadian identities. Overnight in Antigonish.
Day 10:Antigonish to Cape Breton Highlands
(280k) Take the Cabot Trail into the highlands of
northern Cape Breton. Observe a variety of wildlife
in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. On the
west steep hills dominate the landscape while the
east is rocky with numerous coves. Make your way
to Ingonish Beach overlooking the Middle Head
Peninsula. Overnight in Cape Breton Highlands area.
Day 11: Cape Breton Highlands to Sydney
(145km) Continue on the Cabot Trail past charming
communities, such as St Anns where pride in the
area’s Scottish heritage is still evident at The Nova
Scotia Gaelic College of Arts and Culture. Make
your way to Sydney, the entry point for ferries from
Newfoundland. Stay 2 nights in Sydney.
Day 12: Sydney
Day at leisure to explore the historic city of Sydney.
Tour the environs of Sydney and visit Bras d’Or
Lake.Visit Baddeck where a fascinating museum is
dedicated to the life of Alexander Graham Bell.
Day 13: Sydney to Liscomb Mills
(270km) Circumnavigate the great inland sea of
Bras d’Or Lake and tour the Fortress of Louisburg.
Continue on the Marine Drive, a very scenic route
with great natural habitats, beach parks and rugged
coastlines along Nova Scotia's coast. Overnight in
Liscomb Mills.
Day 14: Liscomb Mills to Halifax
(175km) Follow the Marine Drive back to Halifax. |
