Day 1:Arrival in Vancouver
Arrive independently at your downtown hotel and
pick up your information kit at the front desk upon
check-in.The remainder of the day is at leisure. Stay
2 nights in Vancouver.
Day 2:Vancouver
Enjoy the entire day discovering Vancouver and its
many attractions. Stanley Park is a recreational
haven for residents and visitors alike.Trails,
wonderful gardens, wildlife, beaches, picnic areas and
the splendid Totem Park mark this wonderful 1,000-
acre parkland in the heart of the city. For scenic
sweeping views of Vancouver and its outlying areas,
consider taking the tram up Grouse Mountain.Take
advantage of plenty of shopping opportunities in
the historic Gastown area, on Granville Island
(accessible by a short ferry ride), along fashionable
Robson Street, and in colourful Chinatown. Or,
consider a visit to the popular Capilano Suspension
Bridge.
Day 3:Vancouver to Powell River
(140km - land only) Drive northwards along the
coast of the Strait of Georgia past rugged scenery
and serene inlets before boarding the first of several
BC Ferries en route to Powell River. Set against the
backdrop of the Coastal Mountains, Powell River
offers great opportunities for outdoor activities
including sea-kayaking, sailing, fishing, hiking and
mountain biking.The coastal waters boast a rich
variety of marine wildlife. Overnight in Powell River.
Day4: Powell River to Tofino
(233km - land only) Cross the Strait of Georgia by
ferry to Vancouver Island. Keep a close eye out for
possible orca sightings! As you make your way
across the island en route to Tofino you’ll travel
through ancient rainforests and provincial parks,
maybe even catching a glimpse of bears, deer,
wolves and cougars. Stay 2 nights in Tofino.
Day 5:Tofino
This fishing village attracts many visitors with its
spectacular location on the Pacific coast and has
become a premier whalewatching destination.
Efforts of the local populace to avoid
overdevelopment and preserve this natural setting
have left Tofino with its special blend of charm and
heritage.A small, but fine selection of restaurants,
galleries, shops and off-shore excursions will make
your stay a memorable one. Also of interest may be
a visit to one of the nearby islands or a relaxing
soak in a hot spring.
Day 6:Tofino to Nanaimo / Parksville
(205km) Drive back to the east coast of Vancouver
Island en route to Nanaimo / Parksville takes you to
many hidden gems, including native rock carvings at
Sproat Lake and the picturesque falls at Little
Qualicum Falls Provincial Park. Overnight in
Nanaimo or Parksville.
Day 7: Nanaimo / Parksville to Victoria
(115km - land only)Travel along the scenic Malahat
Drive as you begin your southward journey to
Victoria.Take a detour and visit the murals of
Chemainus, the Forest Museum or the Quw’utsun’
Cultural and Conference Centre in Duncan.Your
route ends in Victoria, the provincial capital of
British Columbia.Visit the harbour area, the totem
poles of Thunderbird Park or the Royal British
Columbia Museum. End the day with a traditional
High Tea at the elegant Fairmont Empress Hotel.
Stay 2 nights in Victoria.
Day 8:Victoria
Another day to enjoy Victoria’s rich maritime
heritage and colonial charm. Drive through the
serene beauty of the Saanich Peninsula for a visit to
Butchart Gardens, one of Victoria's most celebrated
sites and rated among the most beautiful gardens in
the world. Once there, stroll through the colourful
arrangements of the Sunken Garden, the Japanese
and Italian Gardens, the English Rose Garden and
the magnificent Ross Fountain.
Day 9: End of tour
(70km - land only) Take a mini-cruise on BC Ferries
back to Vancouver for your return flight. |

Day 3: Earls Cove to Saltery Bay. Crossing time: 50

Day 4: Powell River to Comox. Crossing time: 1 hour 15

Day 9: Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen. Crossing time: 1 hour
